The Fun of Not Knowing

There are days in which the world seems to shift and days in which you seem to shift in spite of the world.  There are times of great fog and confusion and then days when all of it suddenly becomes clear.

There are days when you feel as if you are reborn, even though you do not know exactly what this rebirth means.  There are days you can suddenly feel the future come barreling toward you, full tilt, even though you are not certain what it holds.

There are days you feel that you can project your dreams out onto the world and days when you know you must simply surrender to what is and what is coming, let it be and hang on for the ride.

And all of this is good and all of this is your life.  Embrace it all in joy.  Embrace it all in gratitude, for being so alive and being so open to what is abounding in the world of grace and energy.

Know that there are many flows and that from time to time you may find yourself riding one.  Ah, and what a ride it is!  You may also slip off and fall into a little pool of confusion, but this will end and you will find your direction again.

Just look upon it all as the fun of mystery and adventure.  Understand that it is this not-knowing that makes life fun.  After all, would you really want to live a life where you knew everything that was about to happen, where you awakened in the morning with a plan laid out from which there could be no variation?  Does that sound like fun?

Instead, awaken and feel the new day dawning within your heart.  Go deep and pull out the joy that lives right underneath the peace and calm of your center.  Laugh with joy that you do not know exactly what will happen, that there may be surprises around every bend.  Allow yourself to set aside your plans and just be, be in the great unknowing, the mystery that is unfolding all around you in every moment, that likes to drop hints but never fully reveals herself until the moment of her opening and blossoming.

This is the joyous, wondrous way of it.  Give thanks!

11th-Jul-2009 10:40 am - A little less lost
standunitedicon
Watched two episodes of Lost last night.
This time it was a little less confusing but that could be because now I know that there there. Time-difference were a lot smaller as well. Which makes it all more easier to belief. Of course I enjoyed the scenes with Sayid the most, but if there's no sign of him I'll be with Sawyer if you're looking for me. The thought that Sayid was able to say no to Ben and Jack and walk away almost made me jump of joy. Thatsmyboy Sayid!! Well done. It actually strengthens my theory that he is not voluntary in as hitman for Ben and co. I was impressed by Charlotte's death, well played and touching, all though it isn't easy to watch someone actually drowning in her own blood when you have emphysema yourself . When she said she was on the island before she could mean in another life. Anyway, it's a good way to die, with the taste of chocolat in your mouth...

Your horoscope for July 10, 2009

This is an exciting day for you, lizz, in which you can accomplish quite a bit. Your intuition is especially acute and your sensitivity is strong. Computers might be rubbing you the wrong way today. Indeed, it is possible to get all worked up about a situation when your terminal crashes. Save your work often. Keep in mind that it is just a machine. Don't let it get the better of you.

"It’s precisely the disappointing stories, which have no proper ending and therefore no proper meaning, that sound true to life."

-- Max Frisch

"Hope is the companion of power, and the mother of success; for who so hopes has within him the gift of miracles."

-- Samuel Smiles

"The very least you can do in your life is to figure out what you hope for. And the most you can do is live inside that hope. Not admire it from a distance but live right in it, under its roof."

-- Barbara Kingsolver

Wake up Call: Sananda July 07, 09

We are one. We are strong. We are full of grace. We know not what we do if we do not tune into our inner strengths, for with those inner strengths we get through all that life sends our way.

I am Sananda this morning coming to you in full from this one who has invited me in, for she felt my presence. We are one in all that we do. Nothing that one does escapes influence on another in one way, or another. Even the tiniest influence can be life changing. As we sift through our day’s decisions and remember what came of them, we see how we have been affected by everything that comes our way. We see that our thoughts in greeting of events that we see, hear about and read about, things that we experience have effect in various ways, some that we may not even realize.

"What is it that makes all of us end each day with the sense that we have not lived our time, but have been lived, used by what we do?"

-- Jacob Needleman

"Why has time disappeared in our culture? How is it that after decades of inventions and new technologies devoted to saving time and labor, the result is that there is no time left? We are a time-poor society; we are temporally impoverished. And there is no issue, no aspect of human life, that exceeds this in importance. The destruction of time is literally the destruction of life."

-- Jacob Needleman

4th-Jul-2009 11:56 am - Lost lost me
lizzy

Okay, it's final, it's done, Lost lost me.
Yesterday I watched episodes 2 and 3 and while I could follow epi 2 I could not comprehend anything from epi 3.
It is the time-travel-thing I just can't grasp. There is no logic behind it anymore. And we are logically thinking people.
At least I am. The time-travel is just too abstract and bizarre for me. I could understand it if they would have used the remote viewing way of time-traveling. But this fast for-wind and re-wind thing I just can't follow. The idea is brilliant but the way they show it is just to flashy, messy and sloppy. If they wanted to use the quantum mechanic theory, they at least have to show it to their public in a way everybody understands what that means and what it is doing with our heroes. They could have done that pretty easily by showing something like "Two years earlier", or "30 years later"  or at least  use a symbol like a clock that turns back or forwards in one of the corners of the screen. Then we would know what was going on and try to understand. Now they just lose fans who gave up, because they, like me, could not understand what we were seeing.
I felt very disappointed and angry too. Because they are not taking the wonderful opportunity to develop the character of Sayid (and a few other losties who I feel lost out on this too). They could have done so many wonderful things with Sayid, but instead they use him as a villain, like a Iraqi is not worth more than just be a hit man, a stone cold murderer, which we all know he is not! He had so much potential in the first 2 seasons, but somehow the makers lost their own view about so much more then just our hero.
I have this strong urge not to watch the rest of this season unless Sayid is in it.
Tell me your opinions please.

Maintain this Buddhist Wish of Noble Sympathy:

May I be happy, may I maintain my happiness and live without any trace of enmity.
May all beings be successful and happy: May they be of joyful mind, all beings that
breathe & have life, whether they are weak or strong, tiny or huge, visible or invisible,
near or far away, born or to be born, let all beings enjoy safety, content ease & bliss!
Let no one deceive another, let no one be harsh in speech, let no one by anger or hatred
wish bad for his neighbour. Even as a mother, at the risk of her life, guards and protects
her only child, so with a boundless heart of compassion, I venerate all living beings by
permeating this entire universe with sympathy, above, beneath & all around, without limit,
immeasurable and endless! Thus I cultivate an infinite goodwill toward this whole world.
Standing or walking, sitting or lying down, during all my waking hours I treasure always
this thought, knowing that this very way of caring is the Noblest in the whole wide world!
Thus shall I, by stilling pointless discussions and controversies, by acting blamelessly,
be gifted with tranquillity & true insight. Thus shall I subdue the urge for sense-pleasure,
and never again know rebirth. May this also inspire and thereby cause all other sentient
beings to fulfil the conditions leading swiftly to Nibbāna.
May all sentient beings be thus utterly liberated & completely released from suffering.
May all sentient beings thus escape the dangers of ageing, disease, and death. Yeah!
